Since Mateo Hidalgo founded Hida Alimentación in 1954, we have worked with the same philosophy of innovation, tradition, and quality.
From the start, we have worked to combine the wisdom and demands of homemade dishes with industrial production, with the aim bringing out the flavor of the best tomato sofritos from the Spanish garden. Today, Hida is a leader in flavor, tomato culture, and for lovers of things made well.
Hida Alimentación’s facilities have cutting-edge machinery and the best in food safety. Our capacity is more than 500,000 units daily.
Hida Alimentación started a new era in 2011 with facilities located in Mula (Murcia) measuring more than 20,000 m2. Here you will find the latest in machinery and new offices.

In Hida we use only selected fresh and freshly harvested vegetables to provide all the natural flavor to our products.

With this in mind, the Quality Department is made up of a team of engineers and chemists who monitor the entire production process, using traceability and innovation to improve how our products are made.

At Hida we care about each process following strict quality-control procedures for every step of producing our products. Hida has been certified by the certification company AENOR with BRC, IFS, ISO 9001:2000 and Environmental ISO 14001:2004 quality systems.

Today you can’t understand quality without respecting the environment. Our facilities were the first to receive Environmental Authorization from the Region of Murcia. Our packaging is made with 100% recyclable material, such as glass and tin.
As part of our strategy to protect the environment, we are firmly committed to preventing pollution, following applicable environmental regulations, and continuously improving our environmental performance. This is why, in addition to establishing said commitment in our environmental policy and develop it via improvement goals and actions, we have created an environmental-performance evaluation.

Hida Alimentación has a completely automated tracking and traceability system. This guarantees maximum food-safety for our products.
We only need to have the batch that each of our products contains to know what the ingredients are and in what proportion, when they were made and where they are. From choosing the varieties that we select from our raw materials to the sales point we have sent our finished product to, every stage of reception, processing, or expedition is reflected in our automated traceability-management system.
We are currently present in more than 30 countries, spread across 5 continents, and are currently growing.
Hida Alimentación is firmly committed to growth and product diversification. Our sofrito specialties have consumer recognition and distribution. In this context of growth and expansion, Hida is continuously engaged in promoting our products at sales points and via audiovisual means with the greatest impact.
Being the leader in Spain in homemade sofritos has allowed us to slowly enter new markets. We currently have a presence in more than 30 countries, spread across 5 continents, and are continuing to grow.
Hida Alimentación collaborates with NGOs, donating products to Food Banks and Cáritas. We also participate in labor training done by Fundown, hiring workers at risk for social exclusion.
Today more than ever Hida Alimentación is aware of the need to engage in actions which reflect Corporate Social Responsibility; this is why we collaborate with Food Banks and Cáritas. We also collaborate with Fundown, hiring workers who are at risk for social exclusion to be members of our production team. In addition to this, we sponsor various regional sports and cultural events.
